Devotional : Healing

Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto Him; and He laid hands on every one of them, and healed them - Luke 4:40

There is not a single instance of Jesus being too tired to heal. Because He is always willing. God is unchanging. Jehovah Rapha (God our Healer) is seen through Jesus who healed during His time on earth. God is unchanging. He is the same now and always and is our healer today.

Time and again we see Jesus’ compassion and healing. Not only did He cast out demons, but also healed diverse diseases.

Healing was instantaneous at times. Jesus cast out spirits that caused infirmity. So whether burdened by a spirit of infirmity or a diverse disease, remember that the healing may be instant or a process – but it WILL happen

Irrespective of the healing process (whether it was to get up and walk or to wash spit and mud in a pool), the important thing is that healing is received in the end

When Jesus ascended the cross, His blood washed away our sins but also, His broken body healed our sicknesses. The Greek word used in the Bible is Sozo which means to make whole, to save and heal and deliver – all-inclusive and complete salvation. We are physically and spiritually healed by Jesus’ finished work on the cross

What does this look like today? For those laid sick, our prayer and intercession is like bringing them to the feet of Jesus. But since He finished the work of healing 2000 years ago, the battle is already won. Faith is believing that God is not only able but also willing to heal.

“The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up” – James 5:15

Would you pray for healing today – someone needs your faithful prayer. Let’s not allow our doubt or hesitation to be a stumbling block. Let’s bring our sick to Jesus and He will heal them.

If you need healing or know someone who does, we would love to stand with you in prayer. Let us know using the Contact page.
