Prayer is the two way conversation between God and man where not only does God listen but He also speaks to man. It is an act of faith where we turn to God to help us in our distress, to heal us in sickness of body and mind and we seek His help in all our problems which we know we cannot solve by ourselves. God answers prayers because He loves us deeply and watches over us.
When we pray God’s promise is “He shall call upon me and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him” (Psalm 91:15)
Prayers are simple cries from the heart and need not be full of pretty words. Prayers do not have to be long because God only sees the heart of the one calling out to Him. God wants us to come to Him with honesty and with a posture of love and reverence.

The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit. (Psalm 34:18)
Prayer is not always about asking God; it is also about a heart full of thankfulness for all that God has done for us and continues to do. There are prayers of joy and gratitude for the hundreds of miracles with which our lives are filled.
I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving. (Psalm 69:30)
Sometimes our prayers are not answered immediately or the way we would prefer. God's timing feels like a long, desperate delay but His timing is not our timing. We should never be discouraged or disheartened for God has good things for each one of us and in His time He will show us His way. Jesus lives and when you trust in Him and put your lives in His hands, you will live a life of abundant blessing and peace.
